Our Client, one of the leading provider of aviation ground support services in the region for both Cargo and passenger in Kenya with services in all major airports in the country is seeking to fill the following position ;
Vacancy: Plant Electrician
Department: Workshop
Location: Mombasa
Reporting To: Senior Technician/WS clerk
Job Purpose: To service, maintain and repair all electrical component on all ground handling support equipment and facilities in a safe and a cost effective manner.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Respond quickly to all service requests and efficiently repair electrical systems
- Work rapidly without compromising quality in order to minimize down times
- Communicate estimated timelines for repairs to those impacted
- Conduct tests and assessments of new systems and repairs to ensure quality
- Commit to compliance with all safety standard and regulations at all times
- Perform preventative maintenance to stay ahead of potential issues on all GSEs
- Troubleshoot all problems effectively, performing quality, lasting repairs on all GSEs
- Install new equipment and wiring to expand infrastructure as needed
- Log all services and report progress to management
- Always seek the solution that is most cost effective without compromising quality
- Assess systems and suggest modifications to prevent future issues or recurrent repairs on components/equipment.
- Maintain all equipment in excellent working order
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment
- Ensure and maintain a healthy, safe and secure working environment in compliance with company procedures, regulatory authorities and requirements of customer airlines.
Qualification and Skills:
- Grade I, or equivalent required, ordinary diploma in electrical engineering preferred
- Valid electrician license in good standing
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience working as an electrical technician
- Experience reading blueprints and technical drawings
- Experience fabricating, assembling, and installing wire harnesses
- Experience installing electrical panels
- Experience in commercial and residential settings strongly preferred
- Extensive knowledge of electrical systems, wiring, and all necessary equipment
- Able to utilize hand tools and power tools
- Solid working knowledge of all code requirements
- Ability and willingness to follow all legal and company safety regulations
- Outstanding problem solving and critical thinking skills
- Physical ability to complete this type of work, often in demanding environments

- Able to work independently with little supervision
