The Opportunity:

Fusion Capital seeks to employ a competent and highly motivated professional to establish an Internal Audit function for the Group. This function shall cover all activities of the Fusion
Capital Group including our systems, resources, staff and services and will consider the adequacy of controls and risk management processes necessary to secure propriety, economy, efficiency and effectiveness in all areas.
Reporting to the Board of Directors through the Audit Committee, the successful candidate shall be charged with the responsibility of:
• Developing and implementing an audit strategy and work plan that assesses the Company’s risk management, control and good governance practices.
• Conducting objective and independent appraisals of all the Company’s risk management policies and management controls to ensure achievement of value for money.
• Performing internal risk-based audit assignments and making appropriate recommendations for risk reduction and management, to ensure compliance of the Group’s activities with financial, accounting and operational controls, policies, procedures and statutory provisions.
• Establishing a risk identification strategy and a risk register to document the potential impact of various risk types, as well as mitigation, contingency and continuity plans.
• Designing methods to monitor, evaluate and enhance the effectiveness of the internal control framework, including the use of ICT control systems.
The successful shall be required to work primarily at the Group Head Office in Nairobi, and minimally at any of the Regional Offices as may be required.
The successful candidate will have:
• A University Degree in Commerce, Accounting or Finance.
• Holder of the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) qualification.
• Possession of the Certified Internal Auditors (CIA) and or Certified Information Systems Auditors (CISA) qualifications will be an added advantage.
• Well-developed analytical thinking, reporting and project management skills.
• The ability to communicate effectively with tact and diplomacy.
• The ability to exercise good personal judgment and initiative.
• A high level of integrity and ethics.
Minimum Experience: Three (3) years in a risk-based audit environment.
